The Heroic Age is Here

After recently reading the new Avengers title rolled out this past week I declare.. The Heroic Age is here! Marvel reintroduced The Avengers last week under the Heroic Age banner. With the end of the Siege storyline, we get a new look Avengers team, and some previous faces return to the Marvel super team. In the first issue, Steve Rogers gathers a “new” team to make sure the world is safe once again. Drawn by John Romita Jr and written by Brian Michael Bendis, The Avengers has never looked better. This book promises to be a great ride. Check this issue out now, and enjoy.

I’m very excited for the Heroic Age. Nitty Gritty dark storylines about deaths and resurrections can be interesting for a while, not for a whole decade. I picked up the Wolverine/Spiderman Limited series which is a kick off for the Heroic Age, and its a whole lot of fun!

I read Avengers#1 and thought it was ok. The Romita, Jr. art was great to look at, but the story was a whole lotta ‘meh’ for me. They stand around and talk to much, the team is very disorganized, and Bendis completely lifts the plot of the Avengers Next animated movie. However, I’ve heard that Secret Avengers is great, though.
